SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have recalled outfielder Dexter Fowler from Triple-A Colorado Springs and optioned infielder Chris Nelson to the Sky Sox.

Fowler played in 46 games with the Rockies earlier this season, batting .217 with one homer and four RBIs.

Nelson, the Rockies’ first-round pick in the 2004 amateur draft, went 2 for 5 with two runs scored in his first big league stint.

Manager Jim Tracy says he wants Nelson to get as much playing time as possible at second and third base with the Sky Sox, and that he’ll likely be back with the Rockies at some point this season.
