The city of Battle Ground has scheduled an open house to discuss the Southeast Grace Avenue improvement project.

The open house is from 4 to 6 p.m. July 8 at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St. The purpose of the open house is to discuss the status and design of the project and the potential impacts on neighboring properties.

The improvement project will occur in two phases. Phase 1 will include the portion of Grace Avenue between Southeast Rasmussen Boulevard and Southeast Eaton Boulevard and is scheduled to begin in late 2011 or early 2012. The city has secured $1.7 million from a federal surface transportation program grant for construction.

Phase 2 work will be between East Main Street and Southeast Rasmussen Boulevard.

For additional information about the open house or the project, contact Mark Herceg, assistant city engineer, at 342-5072 or mark.herceg@ci.battle -ground.wa.us.
