COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Steven Lenhart scored on an awkward half volley in the fourth minute of stoppage time to give the Columbus Crew a 2-1 victory over the Rochester Rhinos in a round of 16 in the U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday night.

Andy Iro gave Columbus of MLS the lead in the 30th minute when he headed a corner kick from Eddie Gaven. Rochester of the United States Soccer Federation Division II got the equalizer in the 69th minute by reserve midfielder Darren Spicer.

The Crew will play the winner of the Charleston-Chicago match being played later Tuesday.

Eric Brunner’s 60-yard pass that hit Rochester defender Frankie Sanfilippo in the head set up the winning goal. Lenhart lifted a shot from 17 yards into the right corner of the goal.
