The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched a new effort to support economic development and job creation.

Beginning July 7, it will accept proposals from groups of businesses and other economic players that are seeking up to $600,000. Funds must accelerate small business growth and job creation through collaborative efforts to align a region’s economic, business and work force assets.

Applications must be submitted through a regional coordinator such as Columbia River Economic Development Council, the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council and the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition.
