ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) — Algeria prepped for its World Cup appearance, which includes a first-round matchup against the United States, with a 3-0 exhibition loss to Serbia on Wednesday night.

Marko Pantelic scored in the 15th minute after goalkeeper Lounes Gaouaoui came for a cross and missed it. Zdravko Kuzmanovic made it 2-0 in the 56th minute from close range after Algeria failed to clear a free kick, and Dusko Tosic got the final goal off a counterattack in the 65th.

Algeria plays Slovenia, England and the U.S. at the World Cup, while Serbia faces Ghana, Germany and Australia.

Neven Subotic, a 21-year-old defender, who grew up in Salt Lake City but opted against playing for the United States, started for Serbia.
