KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat held a one-shot lead after a rain-interrupted second round at the Malaysian Open.

The former world junior champion finished 14 holes to lead at 9-under 135.

Alejandro Canizares of Spain shot 69 to finish a shot behind. Angelo Que of the Philippines and Soren Hansen of Denmark were another stroke back after shooting 67s.

A lightning storm stopped play for 2 hours and 20 minutes, leaving 58 players unable to complete the second round. They will return Saturday morning to finish their remaining holes.

The 20-year-old Kiradech rose to the top of the leaderboard with an eagle, making his third shot from 30 yards out at the par-5 fifth hole.
