New police chief for Roseburg OR

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — Roseburg officials have chosen Douglas County Undersheriff Jim Burge as the city’s new police chief.

Burge will start his new job June 1. He will succeed Chief Mark Nickel, who is retiring July 1. The News-Review in Roseburg says Burge worked in Roseburg as a police captain for 17 years before joining the sheriff’s office seven years ago.
