BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — A Washington County sheriff’s deputy received minor injuries in a traffic accident Monday morning in Beaverton.

Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. David Thompson says Deputy Dan Muehlek was responding to an alarm at a business overnight when his patrol car was struck by a minivan. He tells The Oregonian that Muehlek received bumps and bruises and was released after being treated at a hospital.

Thompson says the driver of the minivan was not injured and was not cited.
