OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Deputies are searching for a missing 29-year-old woman and her 8-year-old son after her car was found submerged in a cove off Budd Inlet near Olympia.

Thurston County Undersheriff Brad Watkins says no bodies were found in the car, which was discovered Sunday beneath the surface of North Gull Harbor.

Watkins says the woman and her son were traveling from Silverdale to Castle Rock, but they never arrived at their destination.

He says they’re treating the case as suspicious but there are no obvious signs of foul play. Detectives have very little information to go on and want to know how the car got in the water.
