REDMOND, Ore. (AP) — A Deschutes County, Ore., sheriff’s officer says one member of the sheriff’s Special Operations Team was accidentally shot and wounded by another team member during a live fire training exercise at a firearms range.

Capt. Tim Edwards says the deputy suffered a non-life-threatening wound Thursday, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to a Redmond hospital. Edwards says the deputy is in good condition.

Neither the injured deputy nor the shooter was immediately identified.

The shooting is being investigated by sheriff’s detectives, Oregon State Police and Redmond police.
