Hauswald wins biathlon World Cup sprint

OSLO (AP) — Simone Hauswald of Germany has won a women’s 7.5-kilometer sprint in the biathlon World Cup.

Hauswald finished in 20 minutes, 42.4 seconds. Darya Domracheva of Belarus took second place, 4.9 seconds behind, and Sweden’s Anna Carin Olofsson-Zidek came in third, 14.4 seconds back Thursday. All three shot flawlessly.

Germany’s Magdalena Neuner, the overall World Cup leader coming into Thursday’s event, finished sixth, with two missed targets. She crossed the finish line 39.8 seconds behind Hauswald.
