BURNS, Ore. (AP) — A 52-year-old man has been arrested after his wife alleged he fired at her with a shotgun while they were stopped along Highway 20E in southeast Oregon.

State police say Roy Hill of Elkton has been lodged in the Deschutes County Jail on a charge of drunken driving while detectives further investigate his wife’s allegation.

The woman told the Harney County sheriff’s deputies she and her husband were traveling in separate vehicles late Thursday afternoon when they stopped along a highway near Burns.

The woman says that’s when her husband fired the shot. The woman got back into her vehicle and headed eastbound while her husband drove a motor home westbound.

Officers arrested him at gunpoint on Powell Butte Highway.
