SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a three-vehicle crash in Polk County just outside West Salem killed one person Monday night and injured four others. Lt. Gregg Hastings says one driver has been taken into custody.

The crash closed State Highway 221 for several hours.

Troopers say a pickup driven by the driver taken into custody was northbound when it crossed the center line and collided with a southbound vehicle. A third vehicle went into a ditch and the pickup landed on top of it. The driver of the vehicle in the ditch was killed.

No names were released Monday night.
