ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) — Washington’s tall ship The Lady Washington has returned to service with a new diesel engine and foremast.

The new engine will allow the ship to meet strict emission standards in California for winter charters.

KXRO reports the $100,000 project was funded through grants and donations. The Aberdeen-based Lady Washington resumes in sailing schedule this spring and summer around the Strait of Juan de Fuca (FEW’-kuh) and Puget Sound.
