BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Andrew Ference to a $6.75-million, three-year contract extension that would run through the 2013-14 season.

The 31-year-old Ference has 24 goals and 117 assists and 141 points in 10 NHL seasons. He has eight assists this season, his fourth with the Bruins.

The Bruins picked up Ference from Calgary in February 2007 along with Chuck Kobasew in a trade from Brad Stuart, Wayne Primeau and a fourth-round draft pick.

Ference has also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
