SEATTLE (AP) — Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn has been charged with one count of driving under the influence.

Orting Prosecuting Attorney Aaron Walls says the charge was filed Thursday morning in Orting Municipal Court. The charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Dorn was arrested early Sunday in the rural Pierce County community. The Washington State Patrol says a breathalyzer test found Dorn’s blood-alcohol content was 0.11, which is 0.03 above the legal limit in Washington.
