Firefighters on Tuesday morning knocked down a fire isolated in a bathroom in a home at 14311 N.E. 10th St., in the Hearthwood neighborhood.

A man and three children, ages 2, 13 and 14, were evacuated from the home. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported at 8:33 a.m. Firefighters arrived six minutes later and had the fire extinguished by about 8:50 a.m., said Jim Flaherty, a Vancouver fire spokesman.

When they reached the scene, firefighters saw smoke billowing out the front door, Flaherty said.

Several blocks of 10th Street were closed while firefighters used a hydrant to establish an extended water line.

The fire was believed to be the result of a problem with the bathroom fan, Flaherty said.

Damage to the structure and some of the home’s contents was estimated at $6,500.
