NEW YORK (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers minor league outfielder Andrew Lambo has been suspended 50 games following a second positive test for a drug of abuse.
The commissioner’s office made the announcement Saturday and said Lambo’s suspension is effective immediately.
The 21-year-old Lambo was hitting .342 with two homers and 13 RBIs in 19 games for Double-A Chattanooga of the Southern League. Selected in the fourth round of the 2007 amateur draft, he entered this season ranked seventh among Dodgers prospects by Baseball America.
There have been 19 suspensions this year under the minor league drug program.
