LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Calvin Borel boldly predicted he’s going to win the Triple Crown after Super Saver sloshed to a 212-length victory in the Kentucky Derby.

Ever-cautious trainer Todd Pletcher is caught up in the idea, too.

He says Super Saver came out of Saturday’s race in good shape, and will stay at Churchill Downs to train for the May 15 Preakness in Baltimore.

Heavy rain pelted the track again Sunday, forcing Super Saver to stay inside his barn, where he walked in circles. Pletcher says he’s not sure when the colt will work out next.

Borel says he thinks Super Saver is peaking at the right time and he might just get better. Last year, Borel won the Preakness aboard filly Rachel Alexandra, beating Mine That Bird, the colt he rode to victory in the Derby.
