HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — Authorities are investigating a crash in which a man riding a lawnmower was injured by a hit-and-run driver.

Washington County sheriff’s deputies say a dark or black Nissan coupe struck Larry Rhorer of Hillsboro while he was mowing a patch of grass Friday.

The victim’s son, Joe Rhorer, told KPTV that the driver paused briefly and then sped away.

Larry Rhorer suffered several broken ribs. He was released from intensive care Sunday but remained hospitalized.
