SEATTLE (AP) — A spring storm is sweeping across Washington Monday with heavy rain, high winds, snow in the mountains and blowing dust in Eastern Washington.

The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday for the Cascades where up to a foot of snow is expected.

Forecasters expect 20-to-30 mph winds through the day Monday in Western Washington with gusts to 50.

Power outages were reported early Monday at Seabeck in Kitsap County and in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle.

The Weather Service says as the cold front blows through Eastern Washington blowing dust is a potential hazard.

Forecaster expect the blustery weather to ease Tuesday but for unsettled conditions to continue this week.
