Campaign kickoff: Monica Stonier, a Democratic candidate for the open 17th Legislative District seat, will kick off her campaign today at Firstenburg Community Center, 700 N.E. 136th Ave. in Vancouver. The free, catered event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Speakers will include state Reps. Deb Wallace and Tim Probst, D-Vancouver, and former Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard.
Event features talk-show host: Brian Peck, a Republican candidate for the state House of Representatives in the 17th District, will host conservative talk show host Victoria Taft at a campaign event 6 p.m. Thursday at Blackstone American Grill, 3200 SE 164th Ave. Families are welcome at the free event, which will feature food, treats and a raffle.
