MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A Central Point police officer has been removed from his post as a school resource officer after an investigation found he had a relationship with a high school graduate.

Police Chief Jon Zeliff tells the Mail Tribune newspaper that no crimes were committed but a four-month investigation revealed Officer Dan Brown had violated administrative policies and procedures by having an off-duty personal relationship with a 2008 Crater High School graduate.

Zeliff says Brown has been reassigned to a patrol team.

Brown is a 26-year police veteran who spent years teaching Central Point students about drug prevention.
