SYDNEY (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut won’t be playing in the world championships for Australia.

Basketball Australia said Monday that Bogut, who sustained a season-ending injury in a game against the Phoenix Suns last month, was forced to withdraw from the Australia squad that will play at the world titles in Turkey beginning in August.

Bogut sustained serious finger, elbow and arm injuries in a heavy fall, interrupting his best season since the Bucks took him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft.
