MANCHESTER, England (AP) — England striker Wayne Rooney has aggravated a groin injury while playing for Manchester United — a month before the World Cup starts.

Rooney limped off in the 77th minute of Sunday’s season-ending 4-0 victory over Stoke.

United manager Alex Ferguson believes Rooney “aggravated his groin again, I don’t think it’s serious — he should be OK for England.”

England’s World Cup campaign opens June 12 against the United States.
