NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A person familiar with the meeting says Portland Trail Blazers assistant Monty Williams is traveling to New Orleans to interview for the Hornets’ vacant head coaching position.
The interview is set for Tuesday.
The person told The Associated Press on Monday on condition of anonymity because the team had not yet announced it.
Williams will be the sixth candidate interviewed by the Hornets, who began meeting with candidates on May 4.
The Hornets also have met with former Dallas coach Avery Johnson, current Mavericks assistant Dwane Casey, former NBA coach Mike Fratello, former NBA player Mark Jackson and current Boston assistant Tom Thibodeau.
