MONTREAL (AP) — The Montreal Canadiens say they will decide shortly before faceoff if injured defensemen Hal Gill and Jaroslav Spacek can play in Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Montreal coach Jacques Martin adds that Andrei Markov will not be back for Monday night’s game. The Penguins lead the Eastern Conference semifinal 3-2.

Gill was forced to leave Montreal’s 2-1 loss in Pittsburgh on Saturday night. The 6-foot-7 defenseman was cut on the back of his left leg by the skate of former teammate Chris Kunitz. He remained in Pittsburgh overnight for treatment.

Spacek has missed nine straight games because of an undisclosed virus.
