BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Officials with Concordia University of Portland, Ore., say the school has closed on its purchase of a downtown Boise building and property to house the new Concordia University School of Law.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

Law School Dean Cathy Silak says the university hopes to open the law school in 2011.

Remodeling is scheduled to start within the next month on a two-story building at 501 Front Street that will become the law library. The university also plans to build a three-story addition to house classrooms and offices, with completion expected in June 2011.

The university chose the downtown location due to its proximity to the courts, state and local government and law firms. The deal closed last Friday.
