MILWAUKEE (AP) — Chipper Jones has been scratched from the Atlanta Braves’ lineup with a sore groin.
The third baseman missed Sunday’s game against Philadelphia but returned for the series opener at Milwaukee on Monday night. He was 1 for 3 with a walk before being lifted for a pinch runner in the sixth inning of the Braves’ 8-2 victory.
Jones originally was in manager Bobby Cox’s lineup for Tuesday night’s game, but was removed about an hour before first pitch. Brooks Conrad replaced Jones at third.
