LONDON (AP) — Olympic organizers say it will be “business as usual” for the 2012 London Games under Britain’s new coalition government.

London organizing committee leader Sebastian Coe said on Wednesday that Olympic preparations will not be affected by the general election result that led to Tuesday’s resignation of Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Britain is now led by Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron in a coalition with the Liberal Democrats.

Coe said the multibillion dollar Olympic project retains the support of all parties and promised that London will deliver the games “irrespective of the political landscape.”

Labour’s Tessa Jowell is out as Olympics Minister. She is expected to be replaced by Conservative Party lawmaker Hugh Robertson.
