COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a man was found hanging from a low tree branch Monday in the northbound Interstate 5 rest area north of Cottage Grove.

Detectives say there’s no evidence of foul play.

Sgt. Alan Gilbert says a woman walking her dog at the Gettings Creek Rest Area spotted the man about 1 p.m.

State Police responded along with Lane County Rural Fire District personnel who pronounced the man dead. The site is in a treed area along the fence line about 60 yards from the freeway.
