MADRID (AP) — Bayern Munich’s fierce attack takes on Inter Milan’s fortress defense in the Champions League final on Saturday.
The match also will be a teacher against pupil confrontation.
Bayern Munich’s Louis van Gaal and Inter’s Jose Mourinho both were at Barcelona more than a decade ago when Van Gaal was the head coach and Mourinho one of his assistants.
Van Gaal said Friday they worked together for three years with Mourinho studying opponents and analyzing his own players. Little did he know, he said, that Mourinho would turn out one of the best coaches in the world.
