Breeders’ Cup to run Ladies Classic at night

NEW YORK (AP) — The Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic is heading to primetime.

The Breeders’ Cup announced Wednesday the Classic will be held under the lights at Churchill Downs on Friday, Nov. 5.

The Ladies Classic caps Ladies Day at the Breeders’ Cup, with post time set for 7:30 p.m. EDT. The $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic will be run around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.

The track is hosting the Breeders’ Cup for a record seventh time, but it’s the event’s first visit to Churchill Downs since permanent lights were installed.

Tickets for the two-day event go on sale June 5.
