Disabled vessel reported near Astoria

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard is monitoring a bulk carrier that lost engine power Thursday morning at the entrance of the Columbia River near Astoria.

A marine inspector is examining the 503-foot Hong Kong-flagged ship and deciding whether the repaired vessel can proceed to Portland.
