Today is Open Cockpit Day at the Pearson Air Museum. Visitors can settle into the cockpit of some of Pearson’s vintage aircraft and see the planes from the pilot’s perspective. Weather permitting, pilots will give free airplane rides to children 8-17 on a first-come, first-served basis. A parent or legal guardian must be present.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
Where: 1115 E. Fifth St., Vancouver.
Admission: Open Cockpit Day is free with museum admission.
Museum admission is $7; $5 for seniors, active military members and students 6-17; free for children 5 and younger; $22 for families, which includes two adults and up to four students.
The museum’s event is just one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include the latest Christian Youth Theater production, train trips with the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad and a Memorial Day ceremony.

1. ‘Godspell’ opens in Washougal
The latest production from Christian Youth Theater is “Godspell.” The production is based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew. It features several parables told by Jesus Christ and his followers and features songs such as “Day by Day.”
When: 7 tonight, Friday and June 5, as well as 3 p.m. Sunday and June 5-6.

The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad takes passengers through a 330-foot tunnel and through forests of north Clark County. The trip includes a brief stop a Big Creek Falls.

The latest exhibit at the Sixth Street Gallery wraps up Sunday in downtown Vancouver.
Drawings from 13 national and international artists are on display at the gallery. The works include portraiture, nature drawings and abstract drawings. The gallery is also hosting a Doodle Wall, which will display doodles of all types from local creators.
