SEATTLE (AP) — Inches of rain fell in places in Western Washington on Monday morning as a storm moved across the state.

Forecasters expected the southern Olympics would get the heaviest rain, and the National Weather Service says 2-to-3 inches fell in a six-hour period. A flood warning was issued through Monday night for the Skokomish River and a flood watch for streams and creeks in Mason County.

A flood watch also has been issued through Monday night for minor flooding on the Satsop River in Grays Harbor County.

Forecasters say the weather should dry out midweek. The next weather system is due Friday.
