LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — A 33-year-old mother has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for giving marijuana to her 10-year-old son.

Cowlitz County Prosecutor Sue Baur said Friday that Michele Jami Butler of Longview, Wash., earlier pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and two counts of third-degree assault of a child.

Prosecutors say Child Protective Services case workers told Longview police they got a tip that Butler had smoked marijuana with her son.

The Daily News of Longview reports that Superior Court Judge James Stonier’s sentence will include 12 months of drug treatment.
