Tool library getting organized Monday

There’s a new library shaping up on the west side of Vancouver, and it’s not a skyscraper full of books. It’s a tool library.

Handyman Kevin Hiebert of the Rose Village-based nonprofit Americans Building Community is interested in developing a lending library that circulates tools. He’s looking for people interested in creating a sustainable system that gets tools into the hands of people who want to use them, “like checking out a library book,” he said.

If you’ve got tools to spare or ideas on how such a system might work, you’re invited to the organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Pizza Italiana, 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

For more information, contact Hiebert, 360-904-5150 or kevinhiebert@gmail.com.
