BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres signed minor league goalie David Leggio to an NHL contract on Friday.

Leggio, a Buffalo native, is 7-1 with a 2.71 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in eight games this season with Portland of the AHL.

Portland signed Leggio, 26, as a free agent in August after he spent last season with TPS Turku in Finland.
