TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A contractor whose tools were stolen from his trailer got a little justice after leading police to the suspected thieves by answering an ad on Craigslist.
The Tacoma News Tribune reports that nine of the man’s tools were taken earlier this week. His mother then noticed similar looking tools were being sold on Craigslist.
The man notified police of this and set up a meeting with the person selling the tools at the Tacoma Mall. On Thursday, he bought a nail gun for $120, which he recognized as his own. He notified police, who were waiting.
Scott Hunt, 39, and Amie Williams, 34, were arraigned Friday in Pierce County Superior Court and pleaded not guilty to charges of trafficking in stolen property in the first degree.
