JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Newly acquired cornerback Jason Allen is inactive for the Houston Texans.

Allen was claimed off waivers from Miami earlier this week, and coach Gary Kubiak expects Allen to help the team’s beleaguered secondary — just not against Jacksonville.

Safety Torri Williams, linebacker Xavier Adibi, guard Kasey Studdard, defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard, defensive end Jesse Nading and tight end Owen Daniels also are inactive for the Texans. Matt Leinart is the third quarterback.

Receiver John Matthews, cornerback Terrence Wheatley, cornerback Chevis Jackson, fullback Brock Bolen, offensive tackle Guy Whimper, offensive tackle Adam Terry, defensive end Aaron Morgan and defensive tackle Nate Collins are inactive for the Jaguars.
