SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — Three Springfield police officers have detained a man sought on several warrants carrying a stolen handgun.

The Register-Guard reports the Robert L. McCullen was arrested after a Taser twice failed to stun him.

Police say McCullen handed them a fake driver’s license during a traffic stop early Friday morning. After the Tasers failed to subdue him, police say McCullen reached for his waistband.

Officers were able to put him in handcuffs. They then discovered he had a Glock handgun in the area he allegedly reached for.

They also found a loaded handgun magazine and a knife at the scene.

McCullen had outstanding warrants for theft, possession of methamphetamine and a parole violation.
