Richmond defeats William & Mary 73-49

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Kevin Anderson and Justin Harper scored 13 points apiece to lead five players in double figures for Richmond as it defeated William & Mary 73-49 on Monday night.

The Spiders (2-0) led 35-20 at halftime. They extended their lead in the second half, thanks to contributions from Greg Robbins and Cedrick Lindsay, who each scored 12 points. Dan Geriot added 10.

Despite being outrebounded 12-4 on the offensive end, Richmond was able to stay in front, thanks to 27-for-49 (55.1 percent) shooting from the field, including 9-for-24 (37.5 percent) from 3-point range.

The Tribe (0-2) were held to 18 of 52 (34.6 percent) shooting from the floor, including 3-for-15 (20 percent) from 3-point range.

Marcus Kitts led the way for William & Mary with a career-high 16 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Gaillard, who had 11 points, was the only other player in double figures for the Tribe.
