Coll. of Charleston beats Coastal Carolina 83-67

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Andrew Goudelock had 27 points and nine assists and College of Charleston rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to defeat Coastal Carolina 83-67 on Tuesday night.

The Cougars (2-1) improved their field-goal shooting from 39.3 percent in the first half (11 of 28) to 64.3 percent in the second (18 of 28). They hit eight 3-pointers after halftime.

Coastal Carolina (2-1) led 38-23 with 3:19 to go in the first half and 40-28 at the break, but the Cougars scored eight straight points to open the second half.

Goudelock hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 53. After Holloway scored, Goudelock sank another 3 with 11:38 to go, giving Charleston the lead.

Coastal Carolina, which scored only four points over the next 8:02, shot 35.5 percent (11 of 31) in the second half.

Willis Hall added 15 points for Charleston.

Desmond Holloway led the Chanticleers with 24 points.
