TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Michael Williams has been charged with DUI.

Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies said the 23-year-old Williams was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said the football star’s eyes were glassy and he smelled like alcohol. A breathalyzer test showed Williams had .065 blood-alcohol level, which is below Florida’s 0.08 percent legal limit. Williams also submitted to a urine test, but the results are pending.

Sheriff’s spokesman Larry McKinnon said authorities can make an arrest for DUI if they see signs of impairment, regardless of blood-alcohol or urine tests.

A message could not be left for the Buccaneers Friday morning.

Williams was released on $500 bond later Friday. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
