BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — While neighborhood opposition has stalled plans for a homeless camp of small cabins near Bremerton, Kitsap County is developing a policy to help make it happen.
The Kitsap Sun reports county commissioners hope to approve a policy by the end of the year to permit temporary housing that churches are planning for the homeless.
County parks and recreation staff are looking for possible sites for the homeless camp. Officials promise to involve neighbors in the planning.
