YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — The lawyer for a Yakima County sheriff’s deputy says he’s pleading not guilty at Friday’s arraignment on rape and burglary charges.

Police say 37-year-old Deputy Sean Moore broke into a Selah home Oct. 24 and forced the woman to perform a sex act.

Moore’ lawyer, Jeffrey Lustick, told the Yakima Herald-Republic he’ll ask for the $500,000 bail to be reduce. Moore is being held in the Kittitas County Jail in Ellensburg.

The deputy is on paid leave, and the Yakima County sheriff’s office is conducting a separate personnel investigation.
