NEW YORK (AP) — The Yankees have hired Larry Rothschild to be their pitching coach.
Rothschild, who has been the Chicago Cubs’ pitching coach after spending 1998-2001 as the first manager in Tampa Bay Devil Rays history, replaces Dave Eiland.
Eiland was fired in October after three years with the New York. General manager Brian Cashman said at the time that the decision was his and the reason was private, though it had nothing to do with the Yankees’ loss to the Texas Rangers in the ALCS.
