Duquesne defeats Bryant 37-29

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Sean Patterson scored touchdowns receiving and rushing, and passed for two scores as Duquesne beat Bryant 37-29 on Saturday.

The Dukes (7-4, 5-3 Northeast Conference) ended the season with two straight wins and four in their final five games.

Patterson scored on a 56-yard run and threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Sean Bunevich as the Dukes built a 17-8 lead in the first quarter. Patterson also caught a 26-yard touchdown pass, and threw a 48-yard scoring pass to Dave Williams in the fourth quarter. Patterson completed 9 of 25 passes for 197 yards and Williams caught four passes for 112 yards.

Bryant (7-4, 4-4) outgained Duquesne 469-445 in total yards. Mike Croce passed for 314 yards and two touchdowns for Bryant. Both scores went to Matt Tracey, who caught seven passes for 113 yards.

The loss ended a three-game winning streak for Bryant.
