Eddington runs for 4 TDs as Rice rolls 62-38

HOUSTON (AP) — Jeremy Eddington rushed for 141 yards and four touchdowns to lead Rice to a 62-38 win over East Carolina on Saturday.

Eddington scored three times in the first half and Taylor McHargue was 11 of 15 for 220 yards and three touchdowns as the Owls (3-8, 2-5 Conference USA) snapped a three-game losing streak.

Dominique Davis completed 21 of 39 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns for the Pirates (6-5, 5-2), who were attempting to clinch their fifth straight winning season.

Sam McGuffie added 116 yards rushing and 83 yards receiving for Rice, which compiled 639 yards of total offense.

Jonathan Williams ran for 101 yards and a touchdown for the Pirates, who allowed the Owls to score at least 14 points in each quarter.
